Don Kaplan writes, "THE Force can be with anyone now.Later this summer, anybody anywhere will have the ability to physically move stuff with their minds like characters do in "Star Wars." No joke. A new toy that harnesses the same technology doctors use to monitor brain waves will arrive in stores in August. The toy moves when it senses a change in the user's brain-wave patterns."

There is nothing spooky about this type of technology. We ought embrace it. Perhaps scientists are rediscovering that the brain is not a purposeless chaotic mass of predetermined reactionary chemicals, but a designed tool operated by the soul of mankind to perform day-to-day functions and expressions through the earth-suit called the human body. In this case, when the beta waves are detected, the power switches on with a fan possessing different stages of intensity that releases a Ping-Pong ball. Could this be sly beta test for controlling the future lotto jackpot numbers in a closed plastic chamber? :-)
Concentration does a person no good unless they are learning about or analyzing something in an organized way for recall and associative purposes for future accomplishment. But just maybe the practice of concentration will help those with attention deficit disorders practice the initial stage of concentration called becoming focused. Perhaps these are the first steps towards the development of tools for the paraplegic in order to assist them in operating appliances at home. I predict that our military could hire those with physical disabilities fly unmanned drones to carry out secret missions or operate large lasers to exterminate national enemies from satellites in space. Some may rationalize away the guilt of using such concentration-controlled devices to hurt someone else by trying to convince themselves by saying, "I didn't do anything wrong. Just because I thought something does not mean I am actually guilty of a crime."
Jesus Christ said that man looks on the outward appearance but God looks at the heart (the core essence of who we are determining what we value and our motives). He said, "You have heard that the law of Moses says, 'Do not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.' But I say, if you are angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the high council. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. (Matthew 5:21-22) " You have heard that the Law of Moses says, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her IN HIS HEART (Matthew 5:27-28) In God's eyes, even the thought of hatred or lust is just as wicked at committing the very act of murder or fornication.
We don't need new trendy gadgets to reflect to others what we value or desire to others. Out of the abundance the heart our mouth will speak. (Matthew 12:34) "For everything that is hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light and made plain to all." (Luke 8:17) Even from Genesis God revealed his knowledge of the human condition.
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5)
No matter how sophisticated our technology may be, the human problem will always be a sin problem within our heart. That's where our rebellion against the one and only Holy God originates. And apart from a divine work from God in changing our nature through Jesus Christ as Lord, there is no hope for a brighter future ahead of us.
In the future, I predict that such technologies may cause many people to grow lazier, more depressed, more apathetic, and eventually cause some to lose the skill of physical coordination, because basic nervous system impulses used to operate the human bodies, such as walking and movement, will be used less frequently. But I believe the physically challenged will benefit by creating new connection with technologies that will assist them with day-to-day living needs. Likewise all humans must rediscover and reconnect the mercy and grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ in order to be equip to function properly on Earth now; as well as, be fit for God's heaven later.
